Airbus seals sale deal with Iran

TEHRAN, Dec. 22 (MNA) – Airbus signed a contract for the sale of 100 aircraft to Iran Air on Thursday after long negotiations.

The contract, as reported by Airbus, includes 46 Airbus A320 planes, 38 A330 planes and 16 A350 XWB aircraft, with deliveries due to begin in early 2017, and was signed by Iran Air CEO Farhad Parvaresh and Fabrice Bregier, Airbus President and Chief Executive Officer.

Parvaresh said the deal is a step toward renewing Iran’s air fleet and indicates the start of a new chapter of cooperation between Iran Air and Airbus.

The contract also includes pilot training, airport operations and air traffic management, as reported by Airbus.
